Nkenge Walcott joined Poly Prep’s Middle School dean team in 2023. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Spelman College and a master’s degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Nkenge’s career as an educator began in the classroom as a Grades 7 and 8 writing teacher at a small charter school in Brooklyn. From there, her love for middle school education grew as she transitioned into a role as a teacher and dean at her alma mater, The Nightingale Bamford School. Most recently, Nkenge worked at Avenues the World School as the Middle School Learning Specialist and Co Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator for the Upper Division.
